About

We tell you the truth, even when it costs us the sale.

Modern Compound started with one honest question — not "how do we sell more," but "what actually works, and when does a supplement genuinely help?"

01/Belief

What we actually believe

Behaviour comes first. Almost always.

The science is not a secret. The things that most improve your sleep and your focus are free and unglamorous — morning light, a steady wake time, caffeine timed right, real movement, a dark cool room. Do those, most days, and you have done more than any capsule can do for you. This is the starting point, and for a lot of people it is the whole answer.

We learned this the way many people did — by paying attention to the researchers who actually study it, like Dr. Andrew Huberman and Dr. Andy Galpin, who have spent years making the science of behaviour and performance understandable. We are students of that work, not partners in it. They don’t know we exist — and that’s exactly the point. We’re not borrowing anyone’s name to sell you something. We just did the reading, and we’re passing on what we found.

02/The honest answer

So when is a supplement actually worth it?

Here’s the honest answer, and it’s narrower than the industry wants you to think.

  1. If you can follow the protocols, do that first. A supplement layered on top of broken sleep and no routine is treating a symptom. Save your money.

  2. But not everyone can. If you’re genuinely too busy to hold the routines — the shift work, the newborn, the schedule that simply won’t bend — a well-made supplement can be a real bridge. Not a replacement for the basics. A bridge to them.

  3. And if you already do the basics, consistently, and you want a bit more edge in the one area you’re trying to optimise — that’s the other time a supplement earns its place. Not because you’re broken. Because you’ve done the work and you want to go further.

That’s it — two situations. If neither sounds like you yet, the protocols are the better place to start, and they’re free. The formula will still be here if the day comes that you need it.

03/Why bother

Health is not a scorecard

Somewhere along the way, getting healthy turned into keeping score — rings to close, streaks to protect, numbers to beat. We don’t think that’s the point, and we don’t think it’s sustainable.

We optimise our health for a reason that has nothing to do with the metrics: so we can be more present for the people close to us, and steady enough to show up when they need us. The sleep and the focus and the rest of it aren’t the goal. They’re what let you be there. That’s the version of "optimising" we believe in — quieter, and more human than a leaderboard.

04/The rule

Radical transparency

Telling the truth is in how this brand is built — not a marketing line, a working rule.

It means full disclosure and real doses. It means explaining the mechanism in language you can check rather than claims you have to trust. It means naming what we left out and why. And it means the hardest kind of honesty for a company that sells things: telling you when you don’t need what we sell.

If we ever have to choose between making a sale and telling you the truth, the truth wins. That’s the deal. It’s the whole reason we exist.
